Our "down" time

Every week we go to speech. Each appointment is 45 mind and they're twice a week.
I've thought about bringing a book, or a magazine and just relaxing.
Then I remember that I have a two year old who also has to spend 45 minutes in a waiting room. There are no supplied toys so if we forget to bring some.....
Plus we never know if the room will empty and we can be a little noisier, or if it will packed.
As you can see Bean and Bubba are bored. And now Bubbles is hungry

The Bean

So my older kids, Bean and Buddy's, morning chore is to take out the dogs.
Bean recently found her hat.
I tried to take a picture......and this is what happened.

So, I did what any mother would do. I tried to take another picture.

Clearly this wasn't working....... then she threatened to go hide in the chicken yard.

I had to hide behind the basement door, and her hair is all disheveled but I got it! The hat, her pjs and her boots. Such an odd girl lol

Homeschooling days 1 & 2

So, yes, Ive gone off the deep end and have decided to homeschool the kids.

So far we've dealt with the "I can't"s, the tears, the "it is too hard" and the "I don't know how"s. Now none of their work was actually too difficult, once we got past the whining they got it done, but they're trying to get out of doing anything that takes effort.

We've discovered that Buddy's is capable of adding double digit numbers very quickly and Bean just finished her first book report, she read "Meet Addy" from the American Girl series.

^Bean's book report form, she seemed to enjoy it and it combined writing and coloring.

We also decorated our clipboards with paper scraps, poems, inspirational words, cut outs from magazines and mod podge to seal it all on. I will post pictures when they are dry.

I am still working on organization, I don't want to do too much because I have no clue where we stand with K12 and would hate to get all set up and then have to start over with their program.

I also have some great resources, I can't imagine homeschooling without the internet.

Poor neglected blog!

It's a GIRL!

We have picked out a first name,  her middle name is yet to be determined. For those of you who don't know, we will be having a home birth. Yep that is right, I will be having my sweet baby girl at home without unnecessary medical intervention. I also plan on studying to become a midwife myself, once the kids get older.

In other news, since I last posted Bubba has been diagnosed with more food allergies, joy of joys!
He is allergic to eggs and milk, and sensitive to tree nuts. Luckily I found a great company that makes vegan chocolate and dairy free foods. They also sell a cookbook which I have now purchased and they also have some gluten free recipes in it as well.

We are still on the fence as to whether Buddy is gluten intolerant or not, we will see. He has decided that he wants to play T-ball, so that will be starting soon.

Bean is doing softball which has already started, we will see how long she lasts. In other Bean news, she has been reading the Junie B books and loving them!

Whew!!!

So,..is it normal that I feel like Nov didn't happen?

I feel like Nov FLEW by, gone the way of the Dodo. Between Thanksgiving, trips to the Hospital, two funerals and wakes. I really think it was just the last two weeks or so that flew, but whew!

Still trying to catch my breath. I started working recently, started Girl Scouts, generally going crazy.

I still need to make all of our Christmas gifts, we've decided to go with candy-themed. Mostly gummi bears.

Bubba has been getting into EVERYTHING, hello terrible Twos, joy joy.

Holy Crap!

So, we've kind of been trying to concieve since I got my IUD removed the beginning of Aug.

Now, I was on a cleaning kick, still am really, and I cried during a song on the radio. That is not normal. Took a test today, 2-3 days early, and hello baby #4!!!!

Honestly I hope its a girl just to even things out, but hey, we've got everything we need for another boy!

We are keeping it under wraps for now though as Nana is still unwell.
